This smaller version of these popular ceramic tiles fatures a single koi fish swimming in beautiful blue water.  Created through a special process of Tube-Lining, whereby the artist draws an exceedingly fine image on the bare tile surface using special tools filled with liquid clay. This clay forms small barriers that allow the artist to control the dynamics and quantity of the diverse liquid glazes that rest behind them.

The tiles are then kiln fired in a process that typically takes twenty four hours, going through several cycles of firing and cooling in temperatures that exceed 2000 degrees farenheit!



Not only are these tiles great for hanging on any wall, (the tiles are backed with an easel for standing and a hook for hanging) but the backing can easily be removed by soaking them in water for about twelve hours.  This makes it possible to integrate them into any tile system you might already have such as in your kitchen or bathroom.
